Evolution staff take like ducks to water for St Rocco’s Hospice
On Sunday 30th July, 13 members of staff from Evolution’s Warrington office took to the water to take part in St Rocco’s Hospice’s annual Dragon Boat Race event. Taking part at Warrington Rowing Club, our team was particularly lucky with the weather; after the threat of showers and even thunder and lightning, the sun came out and they got to work against 17 other organisations.
All teams taking part were required to pay for the boats they were racing in, in order to raise money for St Rocco’s Hospice in Warrington. The hospice provides help and care for those who are coping with life-limiting and terminal illnesses across the borough of Warrington.
Although team Evolution did not lift the Dragon Boat trophy, they all performed extremely well – particularly considering it was taking place on a Sunday morning! Not only did our team members turn up to show their support for St Rocco’s, but a few family members came along with them to cheer us on.
We would like to say a big “thank you!” to the following Evolution team members for taking part; Aaron Ward, Gareth Whitfield, Ryan Duffy, Alex Bannister, Natalie Whaley, Gemma Williams, Deborah Murray, Robyn Clarke, Sam Harrison, Kieron Mayers, Liam Price and Jemma Buckle.
As our charity of the year, we have been taking part in a variety of fundraising events throughout 2017 to raise money for St. Rocco's. The next event we will be taking part in is the St. Rocco's 2017 Colour Run at Walton Hall and Gardens in Warrington – watch this space!
