Evolution sponsoring Manchester Java 9 Hack Day Meetup on Saturday 19th August
Java 9 is due to be released in September, making this event a key opportunity for developers to learn the new technologies and to improve their skills.
As the event is being live streamed all the way from Atlanta, USA, the Meetup in Manchester will be taking place between 1.30pm and 7pm. Manchester Java Community, who is hosting the event, will be running a session on JShell at the beginning of the Meetup, and will then dial in to the global Java 9 Hack Day event at around 3pm.
The Chair of the Java Community Process at Oracle, Heather VanCura, will be hosting the event, and the Manchester Java Community will be introducing themselves during the live stream and giving feedback at the end of each of the three sessions. The sessions due to take place are:
- The new modules system in Java 9
- The JLink tool which allows you to create Java images with your application
- How to migrate to the new Java 9 modular system with an older application
If you plan on attending, please RSVP via the Meetup event, and don't forget to bring your laptop and download the latest EA build of JDK 9.
